Street (re)Style | Black Hat

Originally I had planned on just making this outfit a normal Street Style post, especially since I hadn't posted one in for.ev.er. But when I was putting it together, I couldn't figure out how to accessorize it! I started throwing on every piece of jewelry, scarf and hat I owned. I bought this hat about 2 weeks ago on a whim at the Blacktown shops near my house. It was in a home goods store that was closing down so I ended up snagging it for only $4! I put this hat on during my rampage and thought, "Hmm... how can I make this look better?" I have a flippin' impressive collection of headbands and figured I could cover up the ugly black rope that was attached to the rim of the hat with a headband. I tried every headband before I realized I just discovered an easy restyle! Now I can match my black hat with any outfit! It adds a bit more color to a boring outfit. Enjoy!

The Daily Collab | For The Good

For The Good is a screen printing & t-shirt design company based in the United States and has so amazingly offered to be the first "Daily Collab" on Flourishing. 

For The Good began in October 2011, when God had placed this vision on their heart; to use their gifts, (screen printing and design) to help others in need. For The Good wanted to use what they had already been doing for a few years to help fund organizations that help others in need. 

Their mission is simple: Print and design for the good of others in need. A portion from all sales (graphic design, screen printing, and retail sales) go towards their current goal-- various non-profits they work with throughout the year. They desire to inspire others to use their gifts, and passions to help others out. Why not do what you love while making a difference in the world? 

For the good was started by Ashley and Shawn Ulmer in 2011 but since then they've had a handful of individuals help them out, whether at a convention representing the vision, or printing for for the company. They say, "We are blessed to have a great team behind us." 

"The process starts with creating the initial design, whether a client gives an idea, or we come up with something completely original. Once the client is happy with the design we get the printing process started and ship the product when finished." - Shawn Ulmer

I asked Shawn to give one piece of advise to someone who may have a dream of starting their own business or even clothing brand and this was his response:

"If you have a dream you have a desire to pursue, just do it. God didn't create us to be mundane beings, he created us to do great things and to make an impact on this earth, not just occupy it. Live out your passion, its the greatest thing you can do."

Introducing: The Daily Collab

Hello everyone!

I'm so stoked to be introducing yet another new blog series with you guys called "The Daily Collab". The Daily Collab is simply in the name. A collaboration of artists, creatives, musicians, crafters, bloggers and people of great gifting bringing their skills to the blog to share with the blogging community. I've had the amazing opportunity to team up with a wide range of creatives recently and learned about what their creativity has to offer to it's community and following. Not only are these amazing people bringing life and independence into their local areas but they're also bringing incredible creativity and uniqueness to their industry. 

It's never been my goal to make Flourishing an advertising site solely because the heart behind the blog is about helping you find beauty in yourself and what you do. The Daily Collab is a way for people who are chasing their dreams in the area of which they are beautifully gifted can share just that with the rest of the blogging community through Flourishing. I believe this will be such a fun and exciting series and will hopefully inspire that guy/girl who's itching to start their own photography business or clothing brand to actually get going and start chasing their dreams!

Yup. It's happening. Cat's are finally making their big debut in the fashion world. Hate cats? Get over it! My obsessive love for kittens has grown now that I can wear them freely without being judged.
